Global Indian International School Noida Launched 3 New After School Programmes to Promote Holistic Development of Students

Introduces 3 new programs for students to learn Golf, dance and languages to hone out their social, emotional and academic talent

Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida, today organized an after school orientation programme for its students and parents. Three new programmes have been introduced in the campus keeping in mind that how such interactions/activities/programs in a positive environment can help learn the skills they will need for college and beyond. Launched under the Nine Gems model these programmes will provide a platform for the students to cultivate new skills and enhance the inherent ones along with goal setting and making them future ready.

As a part of the programme, GIIS Noida collaborated itself with “The Golf Revolution” team to train students into the likes of the sport. The school is also offering programme on dance by “Shaimak Davar Academy” where students will be trained by professional trainers followed by a collaboration with “LAGMA school of Languages” that will be offering language programmes in French, German, Chinese, and Spanish.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Bansal, Director – Operations, GIIS India said, “We at GIIS believe that there is more to school education than mere focus on marks. The purpose of education is to stimulate and facilitate students to think, innovate and become well-rounded individuals. Our NINE Gems framework helps us achieve just that. Keeping in mind and the diverse need of the ever growing and changing career opportunities our students are being encountered with, the need of channelizing their interests and efforts has become one of our topmost priorities. These after school activities will help students to socialise beyond school and play a huge role in boosting their personal growth.”

The major highlights of this event were the two upcoming, budding champions of Golf – Anika Varma, part of the Indian National Squad who had achieved No. 1 position in India in Women’s Amateur Golf (Indian Golf Union) and Shaurya Bhattacharya, who recently won the Faldo Series representing India in Boys U-16 category. They shared their experience of playing Golf and how it has helped them grow into well-rounded individuals with the students and parents of GIIS Noida. The students were also taken to the ground to understand the subtleties of the sport.

The orientation programme was held for the parents to come and speak to the officials directly and understand what’s best for their child and them as per their interests and skill set. The start date of the classes will be finalised based on students’ response to these after school activities.
